Break Free From the System

I keep seeing people complain about not taking enough action or coming up with a plan to change the system.  If you want change, you’re going to have to start living it.  Like Gandhi said, you must be the change you wish to see in the world.  The change comes from within, from changing yourself.  You are society, so if you wish to change it, you must change yourself.

Now there are many ways to do this, for as many changes you wish to see in the world.  You can start by being a more honest, moral person.  Be kinder to the people around you; spread love, not hate and fear.  This is an extremely important aspect, but along with it you must remove yourself from the system, the one based on money.  To do this, you must become self-reliant, independent; take the money out of the hands of those who run the system and profit from it.

You can start with something as simple as growing a garden.  This has numerous immediate effects.  First and foremost it removes money from big agri-business such as Monsanto.  It tells the government that you don’t approve of subsidies to big farms and it tells society that you want organic food, not GMO, pesticide laden crap.  Also, eating more fruits and vegetables is going to make you healthier which is an indirect protest to the corrupt medical industry while bringing down immoral slaughterhouses.  Gardening is honestly the easiest and most effective way to make an impact NOW.  Of course, with the harvest season ending soon, adopting a more vegetarian diet will also have a similar, although not quite as effective, impact on the system.

Obviously gardening isn’t the only way to make change.  You can change things through boycotting, prepping, and waking up others, but it all starts with you.  Stop waiting for a leader or some master plan, and start doing.

As I continue to write in this new blog and make updates, I’ll be posting links to other blogs that have valuable information, such as gardening, as I am not an expert on most of these topics.  Please leave a comment if you would like me to get you information ASAP.

  2. Well said. The system can look after itself. Change ourselves, then we become the change in the world.

  3. True. And like anything else that is worthwhile, it takes work to make change. We want immediate action and results. Too many of us/me give up if we don’t see a difference.

I always like reading stories or news items that feature people who make a difference by sticking to something.
